In a normal year, food drives are a big help to those who are in need.  As we all know however, it's not a normal year.  The global pandemic has had a massive impact on many people and the need is greater than even for food donations to help out those in our community.

Many organizations put forth efforts to collect non-perishable food times, and The Holy Cross Youth Group is one of them.  You have all week to collect items leading up the the Saturday, December 19th, collection event.  It will be from 4:00-7:00PM.

You can show up anytime during those three hours at their open-house to drop off your donation items.  They will have a fire going outside, hot chocolate, and of course Christmas music playing.  In addition, they will have Christmas cards on the table for you to write out.  Those will go to local law enforcement officers, nursing homes, and others who might enjoy a nice thought for the year.

To add to the fun of donating to help out, there will also be a contest to participate in.  The household who drops off the most non-perishable food items will be a sticking filled with gift cards, candy, and fun stocking stuffers.  It's a good way to help out those less fortunate this time of the year and spread some extra holiday cheer.  The Holy Cross Church is located at 410 Arlington Avenue in Duluth, and you can get more information on this and other events they are hosting HERE.
