The Gowns Of Glensheen Exhibit Is Worth Seeing In Person

For the whole month of August, the "Gowns of Glensheen" exhibit is on display with no additional cost added to the normal tour ticket price.

The exhibit isn't  just a bunch of gowns.  There are also party dresses and attire, and incredible fur coats.  These and the gowns are all displayed throughout the rooms of the mansion.

I was fortunate enough to attend the annual Glensheen Gala this weekend and was able to see most of the exhibit they had displayed.  It's interesting to see the styles from back then but also how small everyone was.

At the tour start you are presented with a Gowns of Glensheen dossier which goes along with the self guided tour giving you information on each stop along the way.  It includes details about a particular person, event, or subject tying in with the displays.
