One of my favorite movies of all time is Strange Brew. The story of two dumb Canadian brothers Bob and Doug Mckenzie, who get swallowed into a huge crime and solve it by mistake.

The Movie takes place around a brewery, and when the brew gets out to the public the owners will be able to control the world, or at least all the beer drinkers of the world.

The story behind the duo is a funny one and took place by mistake and a Canadian law. The story goes that, when SCTV was on the air in America, the Canadian version had two minutes less in commercials. There's a Canadian law that states, all Canadian shows must have a two minute segment dedicated to Canadian life and or Canadian culture. So, Rick Moranis (Bob) and Dave Thomas (Doug), said, give us a frying pan with back bacon, a bunch of beer, acouple of jackets and a couple of touques.

They made each segment 2 minutes and improvised all of it, just to fulfill that law. Then, people were talking about how funny the segment was and so SCTV ran the taped 2 minute segments as part of the regular show and then it took off.

The McKenzie Brothers then cut an album, and after public outcry for more, they made a very cheaply made movie, which had a couple of big stars and mostly improvised scenes. The characters and show vaulted the whole cast into American movies and television.

To know that each segment was just goofing around you can see how quick the guys are and how much chemistry there is.They even make an appearance in the movie "Brother Bear" as a couple of moose.

If you are looking to learn more about beer, why not take part in Twin Ports On Tap, a craft beer experience, with your own mug taster and music and more.

Here's some other movies about BEER!!
