The Joe Diffie show scheduled for this summer in Duluth has been cancelled, as news broke Sunday (March 29th) that the country star had passed away due to complications from COVID-19 coronavirus.

Diffie was set to headline a show at Bayfront Festival Park as part of Taste Of Duluth. The lineup, set for Friday, July 24th, included openers Whiskey Trail, Clare Dunn and Drew Baldridge. Sadly, the show will not go on.

Taste Of Duluth organizers expressed sadness on their Facebook page shortly after news of his passing broke, telling residents who planned to go to the show that they will indeed get a refund.

If you purchased a ticket to the show, here's what you should know:

  • If you paid online with a credit or debit card, you will receive a full refund within seven to ten business days. You do not need to call anyone to get the refund - it will happen automatically.
  • If you purchased tickets at a local business, you will need to wait until they re-open in order to get your money back.

As mentioned, refunds will be paid in full.

As for a new show on the scheduled date, Taste Of Duluth organizers say a replacement lineup is possible. They will release details in the near future regarding this.

In the meantime, you can honor Joe Diffie by blasting some of his greatest hits.
