October is Fire Prevention Month, and many homes aren't quite as equipped as they should be.

The most important safety devices in your home are your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.  Kidde is a very popular brand of these devices, and now they are recalling their combination units called the "Nighthawk Kidde Combination Smoke Alarm / carbon monoxide alarms."

Today started as a typical Friday at Townsquare Media in Duluth.  Everyone was in good spirits, we had our monthly all-staff meeting where we award an 'Employee Of The Month' while enjoying snacks and fellowship.  Courtney Duvall, our multi-tasked and mulit-talented receptionist won her first 'Employee Of The Month' award.  All was good.

The ArcelorMittal Corporation has teamed up with the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross to help distribute a total of 100 free smoke detectors to area residents.

More and more Americans don't realize they are putting their family at risk by not checking the battery or productivity of their smoke alarm. Have your fire extinguisher checked, and your smoke alarm it's your first defense against being burned while you sleep.

It's this week-end, Daylight Savings time!  If you are still confused, it's FALL back an hour.  Another thing to remember is to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, yes, even if they are still good, change them.  That way you know they're fresh and ready to keep your family safe.  Here's the Duluth Fire Department's reminder.
