My husband and I have always had storm drain issues, but even more so now that the new Duluth Middle School has been built.  We get a rush of water from that facility because we live down hill of it.  We investigated and found that there is a good reason why.  If you have similar problems with storm drain run-off, you are encouraged to attend a meeting to have your voice heard.

The Northland has several oil and gas pipelines and another is proposed, the Sandpiper Pipeline.  While the new pipeline will create many jobs the environmentalists are hoping for a different route.  If you have an opinion you want to share today is the day to do it!

How many times have you said, "they should have", "why didn't they" or "how long are they going to be working on this?  Here's your chance to find out.  There will be a public meeting with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation you should attend to get answers to your questions and find out what's on the construction docket for the next few years.

You're invited to attend the Parks and Recreation Commission's annual meeting on Wednesday, April 2nd beginning at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet located at 8551 Grand Avenue.  The evening will feature author Sam Cook!

You don't have to be a bicyclist to be interested or give input in the on-road bike lanes being proposed for city-wide implementation.  If you're an interested community member you also have the opportunity attend a meeting to review the information gathered this summer and hear the plan of the proposed bike lanes.

If you have traveled on London Road recently, you have probably been frustrated with the long lines of traffic heading west in the morning and east in the evening. I can't imagine living there and having to deal with the traffic on a day to day basis.  City officials are hoping to make improvements in the future and your input is needed.

Some time ago I wrote a blog about dog-friendly places in the Northland.  I was surprised to find that there weren't that many parks on the list.  That can change and hopefully with your help, it will.  Your input is needed, mark your calendar for the upcoming Dog Park Task Force meeting.

The City of Duluth needs public input on a variety of different issues that affect you, depending on where you live and where your interests lie.  They realize your time is precious, but your suggestions and questions are crucial to the direction they go with many decisions.  You have a voice, attend the meeting(s) to be heard.

The City of Duluth is seeking input from YOU.  Here's your chance to speak up on the use of energy in our City.  Everyone is welcome, whether you're a resident, or represent a business or an organization.  You are encouraged to attend a kick-off  meeting of the Community-wide Local Energy Action Plan (“LEAP”) Energy Visioning Public Engagement Session.

We've heard lots of possibilities, from a shopping center to a casino, to a public park.  What would YOU like to see happen at the site of old Central High School.  The school with the million dollar view.  It would be sad to waste that view on a warehouse!  Learn more at an upcoming public meeting.

You probably don't think much about the infrastructure of what carries the storm waters under the streets in the City of Duluth, unless of course there is a torrential rainfall and they flood, like that in the picture to the left from last Spring.  But you should, for your health and safety.  Plan on attending a meeting to weigh in on the subject.
