Conditions will be perfect tonight with mainly clear skies expected across the region.

This weekend, there's a chance of seeing the Northern Lights in the Duluth area, thanks to some solar energy that is heading our way.

It's not often you get a good look at the Northern lights when you're in the city, but this lucky photographer did.

Monday, March 27, was an amazing night for the Northern Lights and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore shared this cool video on their Facebook page.

This morning I was driving to work just after 5 am when I saw some vertical beams through the clouds.  At first I thought it was too cloudy to be the Northern Lights, but I had no other explanation.  Then, we talked to our WDIO Meteorologist Dana Zimmer a couple hours later and she said she saw them too!  So I'm not crazy!

We were told that we had a pretty good chance at viewing the dancing Northern Lights in the Northland.  There were to be very active last evening into the early hours this morning. One local photographer, Tim Mlodozyniec caught the phenomenon beautifully and gave me permission to share with those that may have still been snuggling in bed.

This breathtaking new video from the International Space Station offers a rarely seen view of the Auroras from space. The Southern and Northern Lights are one of the most beautiful natural phenomenon in the world. So you can imagine how amazing they look while floating above the Earth.
