This is the first time that I've seen mayoral candidates (or any political candidate for that matter) going door to door speaking with citizens.  I think it's pretty cool.

Four Superior Mayoral Candidates will take the stage tonight at UWS for a debate.  This comes just weeks before the primary elections on Feb 21st.  The candidates are Kalee Hermanson, Mike Herrick, Brent Fennessey, and Jim Paine.

The Duluth Mayoral Election is just days away between Emily Larson and Chuck Horton.  I ran across this YouTube video of a song claiming to be the unofficial campaign song for Chuck Horton.  While I believe the video is meant to be a little tongue in cheek, I also don't think it's a bad thing for Horton's campaign.

Locally, we relied on Spike, the porcupine at the Lake Superior Zoo to tell us if we will have six more weeks of winter.  He ate his breakfast on Monday, made his predictions and scampered off.  One groundhog in Wisconsin wasn't so cordial and was naughty with their Mayor.  At least he didn't draw blood.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is all over the news recently.  I guess that's to be expected when you're the mayor of a major city and you admit you probably smoked crack, but only because you were drunk.

As part of the 'Our Town' series, I like to visit with the mayors from the cities we focus on.  The Mayor of Cloquet is Bruce Ahlgren.  The first time I saw Bruce, he was sitting in a dunk tank at this years 4th Of July celebration in Cloquet as kids threw balls to knock him into the water.
