The FDA has discovered that some alcohol-based hand sanitizers are being packaged in beer cans, children’s food pouches, water bottles, juice bottles and vodka bottles.
There are currently more than 75 different hand sanitizer products to avoid, according to the FDA, and while most of them are produced in Mexico there is one that originates in Tennessee.
Recently, the FDA warned consumers of nine hand sanitizers found to contain methanol. They have now added five more products to the list. Check your supplies to make you sure you didn't get any of these products.
Products manufactured by Eskbiochem SA de CV in Mexico may contain methanol (wood alcohol), a substance that can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested.
