I am guilty and a little miffed.  I didn't USE to wash my chicken before I cooked it, but I saw the benefits of rinsing it before cooking it.  After all, it's sitting in that chicken juice goo after thawing from the freezer and getting rid of that always made me feel better.  But, experts are now saying washing/rinsing my chicken can now be a BAD thing!

I recently tried the BK Italian Chicken Sandwich out after seeing it featured on their drive thru menu.  I like to try new things, and it looked appetizing.  It was crispy chicken, on a hoagie style bun, with melted mozzarella cheese, topped with marinara sauce.  This could be good!  So I dug in and used my scoring system to see how it turned out.

During the Vikings game yesterday I saw a commercial for KFC's new Chicken Littles.  In a testament to advertising, I immediately wanted one, so I drove to the KFC. I think it could have been the pickles that perked my interest.  I love pickles, and the combination of fried chicken, pickles, and mayonaisse is delightful.  However, there is one draw back to this sandwhich:

I guess I can see that cooking with the dark meat is more flavorful and allows for a better texture.  However, I'm still a white meat guy, especially in dishes that feature chicken.  If I get fried chicken, I'll eat dark meat but I don't think I'll jump fully on this bandwagon.  I think for me is a texture thing more than anything.  Which do you prefer?
