For biking and outdoor enthusiasts, the place to be this weekend is Spirit Mountain as they host a full weekend of fun activities, and people of all ages can participate.
The first public meeting for the Duluth Traverse Trail Management and Master Plan is this Thursday, February 9 and the public is invited. This meeting is designed to determine best practices for future management, to guide final segment development and construction, and gather input on improvements to the trail system.
This weekend, all biking enthusiasts should plan to be at Spirit Mountain for the third annual Bike Duluth Festival, presented by the Kraus-Anderson Community Foundation and Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores. Since Duluth currently has 65 miles of urban mountain biking trails, this should draw a lot of people and there will be plenty of activity.
When we moved to Superior years ago, neither of us knew much about the town.
