Supersized Ice Palace Planned As Minneapolis Prepares to Host Super Bowl
As you probably already know, the next Super Bowl will be held at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. While the game is a tremendous draw, there will be much to see and do in the area even if you can't get a ticket for the game. One such thing is a supersized ice palace, which will be built near the Capitol.
TwinCities.com is reporting that the $15 million structure is being built on the grounds of the state Capitol as part of the 2018 St. Paul Winter Carnival, which will take place during the 2018 Super Bowl.
While the exact size of the structure hasn't been disclosed, there was a 163-foot palace built in 1992, that time Minneapolis hosted the Super Bowl. It would be safe to assume that this new ice palace would at least meet, if not exceed, that one in size.
