Per school protocol, the staff member accompanying the students has been placed on administrative leave. That does not necessarily mean that staff member is guilty, it is a precautionary measure. The Minneapolis police says the investigation is open and they are actively investigating.

KTSP received the following statement from the General Manager Mark Bastic of Hyatt Regency:

"The safety and security of guests and colleagues is a top priority at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. As soon as we learned about this situation, we contacted local authorities immediately and conducted a thorough property-wide search for unauthorized recording devices; no additional devices have been found. Per local authorities at this time, it does not appear that anyone associated with the hotel was involved. The hotel continues to fully cooperate with Minneapolis Police Department on their investigation, and further questions may be directed to MPD."
