I have sat in countless meetings and on non-profit boards where fundraising events is the major source of funding to help provide financial help to others.  Grant writing had been discussed, but wasn't quite sure where to start, how to proceed or where to learn.  Thanks to the Duluth Public Library, that very service is being provided free of charge.  Take advantage of their generosity and learn how to make your non-profit grow.

The workshop on grant seeking for nonprofit organizations will be held on Friday, March 28 from noon to 1:30 pm in the Main Library¹s Gold Room (520 W. Superior St.).

The workshop will cover grant seeking basics, provide an overview of the world of foundation fundraising, discuss what is needed before seeking grants and highlight the electronic and print resources available at the Duluth Public Library.  Also, Kief Schladweiler, Coordinator of the Funding Information Network with the Foundation Center, will introduce the comprehensive database Foundation Directory Online Professional, and show how to create customized searches to develop targeted lists of foundations to match an organization's funding needs.

The workshop is free but space is limited.  For additional information or to register call 218-730-4236.
