There was an emergency meeting Sunday night where Power 5 commissioners discussed the fall football season. The COVID-19 pandemic has cancelled many seasons, and it is possible that The Power 5 will decided to postpone the fall sports season to the spring.

According to ESPN, the Big Ten Presidents met on Saturday and they "are ready to pull the plug on its fall sports season." However, they did want to know if the commissioners and presidents from the other Power 5 Conferences would follow them in postponing the season.

There were no official votes in the Power 5 Commissioner meeting or the Big 10 Presidents meeting. However, sources say that fall football doesn't look good. Sources say the season being moved to the spring is inevitable.

It also appears that none of the conferences wanted to be the first to make a move, and have been waiting for someone else to go first. However with fall approaching fast, we can expect something to happen soon. Many sources believe it's going to take a power 5 conference to announce postponement for the rest to fall in line.

Presidents and Chancellors of the Pac-12 universities are also meeting this Tuesday to discuss their plans for the fall season.

Regionally, the University of Minnesota is part of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference.
