After an impressive victory over Penn State Saturday kept them undefeated, the Minnesota Gophers knew they climb in the College Football Playoff rankings, the question was just how high they'd climb.

That answer came Tuesday with the rankings were released and the Gophers had climbed up from No.17 to No.8.

While that is an impressive climb, there are experts across the county who believe they should have climbed even higher.  According to TwinCities.com:

The Gophers (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) were placed behind four one-loss teams: No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Oregon and No. 7 Utah. Last week, Minnesota was behind four one-loss teams and six two-loss teams.

The Gophers have three games remaining on their regular season schedule.  They have a tough road test this weekend at Iowa, followed by a game against last-place Northwestern and then another tough test on November 30 when the Wisconsin Badgers come to TCF Bank Stadium.
