Black Friday is fast becoming a term of the past.   Many stores have announced that they will be open Thanksgiving Day for shopping deals.   This doesn't sit right with me.  First off, this isn't the reason for the holiday season.   It shouldn't be about scrambling to get the best deals on material things.   The holidays should be about spending time with your family.

Secondly, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because you get to eat a lot, see your family, and you don't have do buy gifts for anyone.   Now, companies are trying to ruin that by being open on my favorite holiday.

Companies over the last couple of years have been defending their choice to open Thanksgiving night, and earlier every year by saying the consumer wants it.   So I wondered is that true?
