Sammy’s Pizza Wins Best Pizza In Minnesota Vote

Sammy’s Pizza was recently voted ‘Best Pizza in Minnesota’ in Minnesota Monthly’s Pizza Bracket Challenge

To celebrate, Sammy’s has cooked up a special offer for its fans as a ‘Thank You’ for all their support.

On Thursday, August 9, fans can buy any 14″ (or larger) pizza and get a second pizza of equal or lesser value for 50% OFF.

According to my Sammy's Website, While working in the iron mines in the 1950′s, Sam Perrella learned about pizzas from war veterans who raved about them following their service in Italy. Eventually, he took a trip to Chicago to see what they were all about and how they were made. In 1954, after a great deal of experimentation and sauce recipe development, Sam and his wife, Louise, moved their small café in Keewatin to Hibbing, MN and Sammy’s Pizza was born.

In 2015, PMQ Pizza Magazine, the pizza industry’s No. 1 publication, inducted Sammy’s into its Pizza Hall of Fame — which pays tribute to popular pizzerias in business for 50 years or longer.

Today Sammy's has 14 locations across Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota – all owned and operated by family members and close friends. It’s now its fourth generation of pizza makers – all who use Sam’s original recipes.
