23rd Veteran is celebrating 11 years of doing Ruck Life to support veterans' and first responders' mental health. It's a great program and an uplifting activity to take part in. Last year was my first Ruck, and it was a challenge!

23rd Veteran supports veterans and first responders who have experienced trauma. They offer support and a reconditioning program for participants to teach healthy functional mental health. Read more about that from the 23V Recon Program online.

To help raise money, teams gather to "ruck" at Mont Du Lac Resort in Superior, Wisconsin. The ski hill serves as a challenging course where people hike a half mile up the mountain, a mile around the top, and another half mile down.

A ruck is a military exercise where you hike long distances with all your gear. In this case, participants carry a rucksack full of donated items to help local people in need. What a great idea!

This year, Mont Du Lac has added something even more special for the 2026 Ruck Life. Chris Kroeze will be performing the night before the Ruck on May 29!

Chris Kroeze is a country singer and songwriter from Barron, Wisconsin, who competed on NBC's The Voice. He became the most-streamed artist ever on The Voice after finishing as a runner-up in Season 15. Since then, he's been touring the country and has recorded albums.

He'll be bringing his show to Mont Du Lac Resort on Friday, May 29th. He'll take the stage at 7 pm.

It's a free concert for anyone registered to Ruck. Otherwise, tickets are $10.
