Superior Douglas County Holiday Tree Lighting Postponed
I had just blogged this event when it was postponed due to the expectation of high winds and heavy rain forecast for tomorrow. It will now be held on Tuesday, November 24, maybe we'll have a little snow on the ground for the lighting. All the details of the event are below.
Who needs Rockerfeller Center, we have our own Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at Center City Park! Young families, here's your chance to start your own holiday tradition. Or, perhaps you're going to be out of town on Christmas or the kids are grown and out of the house, there are many reasons that people choose not to put a tree up in their home. This community tree can be enjoyed by all and you don't want to miss all the fun that comes with it!
Celebrate the season now scheduled for Tuesday, November 24 when they light the Holiday Tree in Center City Park (corner of Belknap & Tower Avenue), Superior. Bone up on your Christmas Carols and sing along to the festive music! Enjoy a snack of hot dogs, cookies and hot chocolate. There will be glow sticks for the kids (while supplies last), so get there early! The fun starts at 5:30!
Bring the camera and get your Christmas Card shots with Santa!!! That's right, luckily it's early enough in the year that he can leave his management of the elves making the toys and join us at this annual event.
At 6p the illustrious tree lighting extravaganza will be take place with Mayor Bruce Hagen and Douglas County Chair, Doug Finn. A special thanks goes to the Superior Chamber Ambassadors, volunteers and the Superior BID who make this night possible.
