This drives me crazy.  That's why I'm blogging about it.  It seems like I can never get pop in a can at a convenience store.  "Well they have it in a bottle, so what's the big deal?" you might ask.  EVERYTHING!  Totally different!  Let me explain-I've done a lot of research on this (about 10 minutes) and it appears that aluminum slightly alters the taste of soda.  Some people don't notice it, some people do.  I'm one of them.  I won't drink pop from a plastic bottle.  This became a problem this weekend when I wanted a Mountain Dew - a can of mountain dew.  I tried 4 different gas stations, and couldn't find it.  No mountain dew for me.

Here's some questions you may be asking me right now:

"Why don't you just go buy a 12 pack of mountain dew?"

Because I don't really like Mountain Dew, I just had a craving for it.  I know it's strange.

"What's the big deal about the bottle?"

Like I said it tastes different, and it's a lot easier to get backwash in a 20 oz bottle.

"What about some studies that show aluminum can be a contributing factor in Alzheimer's?"

You're way to smart to be reading this blog if you are asking that question.  And there has been no evidence.

So, if you know of a gas station that still sells cans, e-mail me at kenhayes@kkcb.com.  Also let me know if I'm the only one out there that has this problem.  I just might be.

Oh and one more thing, I like beer in a glass, not in a bottle or can.  Has to be poured into a glass.
