Cargill Meat Solutions notified the USDA Food and Safety Inspection Service that thousands of pounds of raw ground beef could be contaminated by E. Coli Bacteria. The FSIS issued the recall on Wednesday, May 1st.

According to the report, Cargill told the FSIS that they identified a previously segregated product that was inadvertently used in the production of ground beef. The ground beef was shipped to Walmart locations nationwide, including here in Minnesota.

The raw ground beef products were produced on April  26-27, 2024. Stores have been notified to remove the product from shelves, but the USDA's concern is that some of these products may be in consumer's refrigerators or freezers. If you do have one of the recalled products, you are to throw it away or bring it to the place you purchased it.
