It's the biggest sporting event on the planet, and this summer the action is unfolding closer to home than ever before.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and reports indicate it's the largest tournament the event has ever seen, with 48 teams, 104 matches, and a sprawling 39-day run stretching from June 11 all the way to the final on July 19. That's a full week longer than any World Cup before it.

No matches are being staged in Wisconsin, but anyone who has spent a Saturday morning in a Milwaukee soccer pub knows this state takes the beautiful game seriously.

Fans have been waking up early for European matches for decades, and they're ready for a month in the spotlight.

That means you don't need a ticket to a host city to feel the energy. Bars, breweries, and outdoor fan zones from Milwaukee to Madison are firing up big screens, throwing block parties, and pouring game-day specials all tournament long.

So whether you live and die with every USA touch or you're just hunting for a good excuse to grab a pint with friends, here's a look at some great spots around the state to catch the action.

5 Great Places To Watch World Cup Action In Wisconsin

Nomad World Pub — 1401 E. Brady Street, Milwaukee

Known as Milwaukee's original soccer bar, this Brady Street institution is the closest thing the state has to an official World Cup headquarters, showing every single match indoors and on a massive outdoor Jumbotron from its legendary "Brady Beach" patio.

This marks Nomad's eighth World Cup, and the run builds to a giant Brady Street Block Party for the final on Sunday, July 19, when the street closes down for live entertainment, food and drink specials, and thousands of fans.

If you want a seat for a USA or Mexico kickoff, plan to show up well ahead of the whistle.

Moran's Pub — 2900 S. Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee

Tucked into Oak Creek just south of the airport, this family-owned Irish pub has been pouring pints and soccer highlights for more than 30 years, and it's earned a reputation as one of the best soccer bars around.

What sets Moran's apart is scale. Sources indicate it's hosting a series of World Cup block-party street takeovers, closing down the block for all-day events showing every game, with a Jumbotron, an Azteca food truck, and live music.

Owner James Moran says they're the only spot in southeastern Wisconsin actually shutting down the street for the occasion.

Breese Stevens Field — 917 E. Mifflin Street, Madison

For a free, open-air option, it's tough to beat watching the world's biggest tournament from the middle of a 100-year-old stadium. Breese Stevens is celebrating its "Summer of Soccer" with watch parties all summer, and for the three U.S. men's matches, a large screen goes right on the field.

Fans are welcome to spread out a blanket and watch from the pitch for free, while reserved on-field tables with food and drinks are available for purchase. Many other matches air at the venue's indoor Forward Club, so there's a way to catch nearly every game.

The Cooper's Tavern — 20 W. Mifflin Street, Madison

Sitting right on the Capitol Square, Cooper's has been a gathering point for Madison soccer fans since it opened more than 16 years ago, making it one of the city's original football bars.

The Irish-owned tavern is airing every single World Cup match and serving a special tournament food menu to go with it. Owner Peter McElvanna, Irish himself, sees the games as a way to bring the whole city together, and the Capitol Square location makes it an easy landmark to find.

The Highbury Pub — 2322 S. Kinnickinnic Avenue, Milwaukee

Rounding things out is this nationally renowned Bay View soccer bar, named after the longtime former home of English Premier League powerhouse Arsenal. It's home to the local Gunners supporters club, with collectibles from the North London side and clubs around the world covering the walls.

The capacity runs on the smaller side, so you'll want to arrive early for the popular matches, but the deep drink selection, plentiful screens, free snacks, and sheer camaraderie make it a must-stop.

For the World Cup, it's open-allegiance, with England, USA, and neutral fans all welcome.
