Officials Seize Meth Water In Northern Minnesota – What Is It?
Three people were arrested earlier this week in Itasca County, Minnesota. WDIO reports that the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (AIM VCET) executed search warrants in both Grand Rapids and La Prairie.
The team seized 118 grams of meth, 32 ounces of meth water, a gun, and over $100,000 in cash. 2 men and a woman were charged with multiple felonies. You can read more details about this specific case from WDIO.
What caught my attention in this case was that they seized "meth water." Apparently I'm late to the game, but I didn't know that existed. I always had heard of people smoking meth or injecting it. So what exactly is meth water?
Meth water or liquid meth is usually used by smugglers to transport the illegal drug. It's meth dissolved in water and it can be hidden in water bottles. Drug-sniffing dogs can still detect it, however.

Liquid meth can be hidden in all sorts of things, like paint containers, gas containers, and even lava lamps.
Sometimes, liquid meth is converted back to a solid form before use, but users also drink it or inject it from its liquid form.

Drinking liquid meth puts someone at an even higher risk of meth overdose compared to other forms.
While much of the country's current focus is our southern border security, drugs are still trafficked to and from Canada on Minnesota's border as well. Keep an eye out for this newer form of a lethal drug.
