"Better late than never!" That's what a snowmobile club in Northern Minnesota said after they shared an update that they've groomed all of their trails. Minnesota had a snowy start to the year, but since December, we've been experiencing a drought. Many parts of the state don't have enough snow to complete grooming. However, a hotspot in Minnesota is open for business.

The Vermilion Penguins Snowmobile Club has posted an update stating that all of their trails are groomed. This is for the Lake Vermilion area and surrounding trails. Lake Vermilion is often one of the first and last places in the season to be able to ride. The long lake provides a great trail system on and off the ice, with plenty of places to stop and warm up.

Most trail systems in Minnesota still don't have enough snow for grooming. Some are open and in good condition, like the Matthew Lourey State Trail, the Heartland State Trail, Crow Wing State Park, Jay Cooke State Park, Lake Bronson State Park, and the Cascade River State Park. Bear Head Lake State Park was reported to be in "very good" condition last week.

Cooler temperatures are coming this week, with more chances of snow by Thursday. Hopefully, some more snow will open up more trails to enjoy this winter season before they thaw in March.
