Continued good news for Northland book lovers:  Superior Public Library staff have announced that patrons will no longer need to make an appointment to use the in-person services on select days of operation.  Starting Monday, October 5, patrons can enter the library without an appointment Monday through Thursday during select hours (see detail below).  Curbside service will continue to be available - by appointment - on Friday and Saturday (see hour detail below).

In a lot of ways, the Superior Public Library never really shut down during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Almost immediately after the initial shut down orders from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, the library offered virtual services, which evolved into curbside service, and then in-person use by appointment.  These new changes represent the continued and evolved process of an eventual full-reopening when situations allow.

Here are the details about the open library hours - with no appointment needed:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday:  10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday:  10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Masks will be required
  • There is a one-hour time limit to each visit (due to capacity regulation)
  • Limited number of computers available

Curbside appointments will continue to be available for library patrons who wish to check-out books and materials - albeit in a more distanced capacity.  Here are the details:

  • Friday:  10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Saturday:  10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Patrons who wish to use curbside service must call in advance to request items and schedule an pickup time:  715-394-8860.  At your scheduled time, just pull up in the curbside area which is located in front of the library and a staff member will bring your items outside for you to pick up.
