This is pretty exciting news!  A TV crime drama is being developed to be set on the North Shore.  It's based on a trilogy of novels by Norwegian writer Vidar Sundstol.   Slingshot Global Media has made the deal to bring it to the small screen, according to the Pioneer Press.

The plot would evolve around a Norwegian tourist's body showing up on the shore of Lake Superior.  The case would then link to other murders and crimes over 100 years.

According to Bring Me The News, the shooting could actually take place in the towns of Tofte and Shroder in Cook County.  Another popular show set in Minnesota, Fargo, is actually shot mostly in Canada.

There's no report now on what network would air the series.

Another exciting thing for Minnesota in television is HBO's development of a show set in Stillwater.  Colin Farrell is linked with this dramathat follows a New York City cop as he relocates with his family to a small Minnesota Town, where things spiral out of control.

And of course, don't forget about Fargo.  It's a great show even if it isn't filmed in Minnesota.  It debuts on FX on October 12th!
