Original Post:
Tap On Tower is set to open and become the first self-pour taproom in Superior, making it the second in the Twin Ports after the Duluth Tap Exchange which opened up back in 2019.
According to DNT, the new taproom is set to open Friday, Oct. 15, at 1106 Tower Ave. It's located in the old Sclavi's building. Owner Jordan DeCaro, also owns Duluth Tap Exchange went on to say:
This fit the concept and all the new development in this area kind of drives you. Once you do one, it’s like you get that hunger to continue to bring this concept to different demographics. It’s very unique. You can drink one ounce; you can have 30 ounces. It’s really up to you
Tap On Tower will work similar to the Tap Exchange, where you walk in and give your debit/credit card and ID to the hostess and will then receive a wrist band. After that you will grab a glass, find your drink of choice, scan your wristband and began to pour once the light turns green. I absolutely love the idea of buying beer based on how many ounces you pour.
The new establishment will offer ciders, craft and domestic beers and white wine on tap. The options will include local favorites such as Earth Rider, New Glarus, South Shore, Duluth Cider and Bent Paddle. DeCaro did note that there will be a 44-ounce check in, where once you reach 44 ounces, you have to check in with your beertender to not over-serve.
There will also be a full bar where red wine, whiskey, vodka and other liquors will be available. If you're feeling hungry they also have local favorites like Shelton’s Pizza from Saginaw and Love Creamery ice cream. You can also bring food in as well, so the options are endless.
I recently visited the new tap room and it looks like they are putting in the finishing touches.
