New Attendance Record Set At 2018 Minnesota State Fair
Minnesotans, give yourself a big pat on the back!
The Minnesota State Fair had record-breaking attendance this time around with a total of....2,046,533 visitors! This is the first time ever that attendance has topped 2 million.
Saturday, September 1st brought in a large share of the visitors setting a new attendance record AND an all-time single day attendance record at the same time with 270,426 foodies heading to eat and drink.
The overall attendance record is up from last year, where 1,997,320 proud Minnesotans took on the fair.
I don't have scientific proof but I think the new food and drink options at the 'Great Minnesota Get Together' probably boosted attendance!
For example, new food options this year included nordic waffles, rainbow cloud rolls and a BBQ split.
The new drinks also weren't too shabby. An orange cream ale and an 'uffda' ale were just a few of the new additions - no, really! There were 27 new drink options total.
A killer lineup of country shows also probably had people sprinting to the Grandstand! Trampled By Turtles, Old Dominion and Maren Morris all took the stage.
And finally, when the Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern says he loves the Minnesota State Fair, that's all the proof we need.
See you next year!
