After a rocky year, Morgan Wallen is staging a major comeback, announcing a massive arena tour for 2022.

We all know the year that the country star has had. A video of him using a racial slur surfaced at the beginning of 2021, just as he was dropping his critically-acclaimed double album. The fallout from the video continues to this day. Most recently, he was banned from attending the CMA Awards, despite a nomination in the Album Of The Year category.

He has been slowly making his way back into the mainstream with a few appearances here and there. He has since launched a charitable foundation named after one of his big hits and has performed a handful of concerts.

This, however, will be his first big tour as a headliner. He announced the tour on Monday (November 15th) and it includes newcomer Larry Fleet and Hardy as openers. With this tour, there is good news and bad news for Minnesotans.

There is no Minnesota tour date on this tour, which is called The Dangerous Tour after his hit album. However, there are several stops nearby and there is even one in Wisconsin!

Morgan will be playing a show in Green Bay on April 28th of 2022. While this is a little bit of a trek, it's not too far if you are a big super fan. Green Bay is about five hours away from the Twin Ports by car.

There are also a few other shows you could road trip to if you are down to drive for a bit! He will be playing a show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 10th of 2022, prior to the Green Bay Show. Sioux Falls is about six hours away.

Omaha, Nebraska is a little further but still an okay distance for a road trip. The spot is about seven and a half hours from the Twin Ports and Morgan will be playing a show there on March 11th of next year.

For a closer show, you could attend the Grand Forks show. Grand Forks, North Dakota is just under five hours from the Twin Ports. He will be taking the stage there on March 12th.

Last but not least, you can see Morgan in Des Moines, Iowa. That spot is about five and a half hours from the Twin Ports. That show is on April 29th of next year.

See what I mean? While it is a huge bummer that he isn't coming to Minnesota this time around, there are still plenty of shows you can attend if you are down for a little drive! Wisconsinites won't have too far to go for the Green Bay show.

By the way, Hardy opening isn't a huge surprise, as he and Morgan are close friends. When it was announced that Morgan was banned from the CMA Awards, Hardy spoke out, despite himself earning a nomination in the Best New Artist category. At the time, he said he didn't agree with the decision and that he should at least be allowed to attend. They even have a song together that you can bet on them singing in person.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at various dates so if you are thinking of attending a show, you will need to look into when and where you can get tickets.

This is the latest in a long string of concert announcements. So many artists have announced big shows for the end of 2021 and especially for 2022. We are keeping track of all of those shows coming to Minnesota and Wisconsin with our concert calendar.

Morgan Wallen's Dangerous Album has set some sales records even amid the controversy earlier this year. I've listened to the album many times. There isn't really a song I don't like on the album. They are all pretty good, but there are some that really stand out.
