Road improvements are scheduled to happen along Highway 23 and Highway 123 near Sandstone next spring.  In advance of the project work, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding a Virtual Open House meeting on Thursday, October 1.

According to advance information released by MNDOT, the scheduled improvements include roadway resurfacing from Highway 23 to Kettle River Bridge, realignment of Highway 123 and Highway 23 intersection, ADA updates, extended sidewalk along Main Street and Third Street, reconstruction of Highway 123 from Park Avenue to Highway 30, and other assorted road improvement work.

As has been their practice since the COVID-19 Pandemic response began, MNDOT is not hosting any public in-person meetings at this time.  In order to facilitate the informational nature of this upcoming road project, they are instead holding the virtual open house on Thursday, October 1 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a formal presentation taking place at 6:30 PM.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation will offer time for questions to be asked and answered before and after the presentation.
