Minnesotan Nails Audition On America’s Got Talent
Well, we definitely know who we are rooting for this season. A Minnesotan was featured on a recent episode of America's Got Talent and she wowed the judges panel to say the least.
This isn't the first Minnesota television connection we've had recently! A home in the Great Lakes region of the state is going to be featured on an episode of Ugliest House In America. The episode is called the Not-So-Great Lakes.
The home is definitely not for everyone. It was built by a woodworker decades ago and something got messed up so some of the doors don't open. It also has some pretty interesting decor.
The episode will air on Sunday, August 7th on HGTV. You can also watch the episode on Discovery Plus. The show is really fun so it is definitely worth watching! Plus, the houses are cool to tour, although ugly.
Now, we have a chance to root for Minnesota yet again thanks to the NBC show America's Got Talent. A contestant on the show has instantly become a frontrunner after her audition on a recent episode.
The episode aired on Tuesday (July 26th) and featured a Minnesotan named Debbii Dawson. According to KARE 11, she grew up in Hutchinson. Hutchinson is about three hours from the Twin Ports.
Not only did she wow the judges with her audition but she did so with an iconic song! Debbii covered Dancing Queen by ABBA, which is one of the most famous songs of all time! Of course, she put her own spin on it with great vocals as she strummed on her guitar.
Clearly, the audition was a success as the video at the time of writing this has well over five-million views and counting. Prior to the audition, she shared she was nervous, which is understandable considering she is singing in front of millions and famous celebrities on the panel like Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum.
She also shared that she currently lives in Los Angeles, where she moved to pursue her dream of singing. It looks like things are looking good so far! Her parents, she mentioned, are still in Minnesota.
She told Simon Cowell prior to the show that her dream is to have music be her reality, rather than a dream. She had a dramatic pause before she began singing the song but within the first second, you can tell she is an incredible singer!
She was so good during her audition that she received a standing ovation from the judges, including Simon Cowell, who is famously hard to please. The judges told her she has a star quality and that the performance was beautiful.
The only piece of criticism she received was that she should look up more when she sings so that everyone can see her face! She is moving on to the live shows, which start on Tuesday, August 9th. Get ready to vote!
