A birthday celebration turned horrifying, and nearly deadly, recently in Wisconsin and now the victim's friends and family are hoping the community can help.

An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run case, and authorities are not releasing the suspect's name until formal charges are filed. Also, authorities have reportedly recovered the suspected vehicle involved.

For the victim, the healing process has begun, but it will take time and money to get through what will likely be a long long recovery process.

A Horrifying End To A Birthday Celebration

According to reports, between Friday, December 13th, and Saturday, December 14, Charlene Davey was out celebrating her 25th birthday in Superior, Wisconsin, when she became the victim of a hit-and-run outside TJ’s Champions Bar and Grill, located at 715 Belknap Street. According to her Facebook page, Davey is from Duluth, Minnesota.

The incident occurred sometime between 11:55 p.m. Friday and 12:15 a.m. Saturday and the call for help came in around 3:45 a.m.

Police reported that an eyewitness saw a driver running Charlene's body over as they backed up, and then running her over again as they pulled away. The driver did not stop to check on Charlene and the eyewitness also reported seeing the van drive away immediately afterwards.

Charlene's friends found her outside lying lifeless on the ground several minutes after the incident. Not knowing what had just happened to her, they immediately rushed her to the hospital.

Charlene suffered a severe head and ear wound requiring multiple stitches and surgery. She has cuts, bruises, and lacerations all over her body.

She is extremely lucky to be alive but has a long road to recovery. Charlene will need to take many weeks off from work to recover both physically and emotionally from what happened that night.

A GoFundMe has been started to help her financially during her recovery period. All donations received will help Charlene pay her monthly bills and the medical expenses that continue to accrue.

As of December 21, they were close to hitting the initial donation of $5,0000 goal, but surpassing that amount would greatly help Charlene. You can click the button above to help.
