Minnesota Among States That Spend Least On Fast Food

It's no secret that our habits and lifestyle has changed quite a bit over the past few years. People aren't going out to eat or through the drive-thru as much as they used to.

This can be attributed to many things, like the rising cost of everything. Perhaps we're all being a bit more health conscious these days.

Because of the cost, it's also seen as a bit of a luxury these days. So how much of our income do we spend on fast food in our neck of the woods?

WalletHub Names States Where People Spend Most & Least On Fast Food

WalletHub released an eye-opening new study on Wednesday (June 11th), dropping a list from those that spend the most to the least on fast food trips. Oddly enough, Minnesota didn't land where I thought.

To organize this study, analysts simply looked at the cost of fast food items like burgers, chicken sandwiches and pizza, across all 50 states. They then adjusted those numbers to the median monthly income in each state.

Minnesota Among States That Spend The Least On Fast Food

We have some of the best fast food places in the country in the midwest, so this surprised me. It looks like we spend the least amount of our salary on fast food, along with just a few other states. Minnesota ranked number forty-five here.

Wisconsin definitely spends a little more, coming in at number 22. However, Wisconsin is right around the middle, meaning it could be better but it could be worse!

Mississippi, New Mexico and Kentucky spend the most on fast food while Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts spend the least.
