The fallout from the injury to Chad Beebe continued as the Minnesota Vikings brought back another familiar face by re-signing Marcus Sherels.

Earlier in the day, the team announced the return of Laquon Treadwell at wide receiver and now they bring back Sherels to help return punts.

According to Postbulletin.com:

The 31-year-old Sherels is tied for first in Vikings franchise history with a 10.4 yard career punt-return average (208 for 2,171 yards) and holds the franchise record with five career punt return touchdowns. He ranked second in the league from 2012-15 with 1,230 punt return yards and was tied for second in that same four-year span with three punt return scores.

The Vikings had waived Sherels, who then signed with the New Orleans Saints who ultimately released him as he was injured throughout training camp.  He is healthy now and ready to contribute.

Meanwhile, Chad Beebe has been placed on IR with ligament damage to his ankle.  Whether or not he needs surgery remains to be seen, but he will be out at least 8 weeks.
