After Chad Beebe injured his ankle Sunday against the Oakland Raiders, the Vikings found themselves needing depth at wide receiver, so they turned to a familiar face.

Multiple sources are reporting that the Minnesota Vikings have re-signed former first-round pick Laquon Treadwell, who they had released prior to the start of the season.

NFL.com is reporting that Vikings wide receiver Chad Beebe tore ligaments in his ankle and even though surgery doesn't appear to be planned right now, he may miss extended time.

That opens the door once again for Treadwell, who currently holds the distinction of being the only first-round receiver in Vikings history not to gain at least 1,000 career yards after starting his career with the team. Perhaps a second chance will allow him to add to his career totals and get him over 1,000 yards with the Vikings.

The Vikings will need as much firepower as possible Sunday afternoon as they travel to Soldier Field to battle the Chicago Bears and their relentless defense.  Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m.
