There was a lot of pre-draft speculation that the Timberwolves were trying to swing a trade for Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler, but when it was all said and done, they held on to their first-round pick and made a great choice.

With the No. 5 overall pick in the NBA Draft, the Timberwolves selected Providence guard Kris Dunn.  Some experts had Dunn ranked as third best player in the draft and a player that could play a significant role as a rookie.

I think this is a great pick for the 'Wolves.  Dunn can run a team and score, but what I love most is that he may come in as a rookie and instantly be one of the best defensive players on a team that didn't exactly stress defensive last year.

I'm also very interested to see what this eventually means for Ricky Rubio.  I think putting Dunn and Rubio on the court together could be interesting, but at some point Ricky could be traded.

Either way, the future for the Timberwolves is exciting and watching these guys grow together will be a lot of fun.
