Mark Your Calendars For The Summer Fair Kickoff Event
The Minnesota State Fair is still a long ways away. At this point, it couldn't feel further away, considering that it still feels like winter. Just looking out the window right now is making me sad!
However, if you want to get in on all the fair foods you love, you have a shot. Fair organizers just announced the details of their annual 'Kickoff To Summer At The Fair' event so buckle up.

The event will take place in May, meaning you have something to look forward to and a little buffer leading up to the fair. The event will run from May 21st through the 24th.
The event will run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 21st and 22nd, and will have longer hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. the remaining two days. Let's go! The event even has new additions this year.
'Kickoff To Summer At The Fair' Event Is A Bit Different This Year
Get ready to feast more than ever before. This year, there will be more than forty vendors, which is more than they have ever featured before. There will also be the Hunter & Jumper Horse Show and the Second Glance Crop Art Exhibit, which are both free and new this year.

There's also the Read To A Breed addition this year, where you can read to a cute animal. Sign me up! There will also be a way to find out your blood type and donate blood on site.
New vendors include: Aldo's Burgers, Amish Annie Donuts, Little Prairie Coffee, Mami Churros & Creamery and Sabino's Pizza Pies. Wow, I am hungry. There are also a ton of new vendor options this year as well.
As always, however, there will be free parking, free entertainment and shopping. The super popular Milk Run 5K Race will also take place on Saturday (May 23rd). You can see a full schedule of events, entertainment lineup and more on the official event page.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (April 3rd) at 10 a.m. and you can purchase them online. Be careful when you're buying tickets and you should purchase them directly from the website to avoid being scammed.
If you buy tickets ahead of time, you can save a few bucks! Tickets are $14 bucks through May 20th. After that, ticket prices jump up a few dollars. Children four and under are free.
There will be a limited number of tickets sold per day so try to purchase ahead of time to secure your place! I have never gone but I think this might be my year.
