Winning Powerball Ticket Worth A Whopping $100,000 Purchased In Minnesota
Someone in northern Minnesota had quite a profitable weekend by buying a Powerball ticket, and they were just one number away from winning a life-changing jackpot.
Going into the drawing on Saturday, August 23, the Powerball jackpot had grown to an estimated $700 million. Although nobody won the grand prize, someone in the Duluth area did win $100,000, which is still a significant amount.
The winning Powerball numbers on August 23 were: 11,14, 34, 47, and 51. The Powerball was 18 and Power Play 2x.
To win $100,000, the winner would've matched 4 out of 5 white numbers while also matching the Powerball number, and adding the multiplier option to their winning ticket.

According to the Minnesota Lottery, that's exactly what happened to someone who purchased their ticket in Duluth.

The Minnesota Lottery says the winning ticket was purchased at a Super One Foods located at 5401 Burning Tree Road in Duluth.
As of the afternoon of Monday, August 25, that big win has yet to be claimed. Hopefully, whoever bought that ticket still has it in their possession and remembers to check the winning Powerball numbers from Saturday.
Unless they decide to come forward publicly, we may never know who the winner is. Regulation is in place in Minnesota to protect lottery winners who win over $10,000.
Big-money winners can become targets for scammers and fraud, so the Minnesota Lottery will not divulge their name unless they first agree to it.

Since nobody won the $700 million Powerball Grand Prize on August 23, the next Powerball jackpot has currently grown to a whopping $750 million, a number that is likely to increase based on the number of ticket sales.
The next drawing is set for 9:59 p.m. on Monday, August 25. If you want to take a shot at all the dough, remember the cutoff to purchase your Powerball tickets is 9:00 p.m. on the days of the drawings, which are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Remember, you can always check the winning numbers through the Minnesota Lottery website.
