Minnesota DNR Kicks Off Operation Dry Water Campaign to Deter Drinking and Boating
This weekend the national Operation Dry Water campaign will be in full effect in lakes across the area, aimed at deterring drinking and boating.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and other public safety agencies statewide will step up patrols for intoxicated boaters all weekend long.
According to the Minnesota DNR, statistics show that alcohol plays a major role in boating accidents and fatalities, both in Minnesota and nationally. In 2014 alone, alcohol was a factor in six of the state’s 14 fatal boating accidents.
Have a great weekend out on the lakes, but make sure to play it safe and smart.
