It's always sad to see vandals destroy property because not only is it senseless and unnecessary, but it also creates a financial burden for the victim.

This is especially true when it happens to public property in a small town, where funds can be tight and the impact can be felt by many.

Unfortunately, that is what happened recently in a small Minnesota town when a community gathering space was damaged by vandalism to the point where it may not be repairable.

Now, community leaders, who have received some helpful information from authorities, are looking for the public's help locating whoever is responsible. Hopefully, somebody out there has information and they will be caught.

Brookston, Minnesota City Council Reaches Out For The Public's Help

Details of the incident arrived Sunday when the Brookston City Council posted on Facebook to inform the public that someone had run into the city pavilion with their vehicle on Friday, January 24, causing extensive damage.

According to the Brookston City Council, multiple pieces of the vehicle came off during the incident and the Fon Du Lac Police Department was able to identify the pieces as being from a black Subaru Forester.

They went on to say that the pavilion is a popular place for the community, especially during the summer, and they are very concerned that it may not be repairable. They shared photos of the damage, but they say the photos don't accurately reflect just how much damage had been done.

Now, they would like the public to share the photos and the story of what happened to find the black Subaru Forester, along with whoever was in the vehicle Friday night.

You'd hope that if that much damage was done to the vehicle, with pieces of it left behind, the black Subaru in question would stand out if out driving around. There is also the chance that the owner is looking around for places to repair the damage.

Either way, the more people that get this information, the better chance there is to catch whoever did it. So, even if you don't have information to share, please share this across your social media channels.

UPDATE: The Brookston City Council has provided an update, saying that the vehicle in question has been located. However, as this remains an open investigation, there is currently no other information available.
