
Minnesota Named One Of Best States For 2025
I mean, I think Minnesota is pretty great so I get it! It seems I am not the only one because Minnesota just made the cut on a pretty incredible list.
U.S. News & World Report just released their annual list of the best and worst states to live in. Minnesota did incredible this time around!

In fact, U.S. News & World Report has been releasing this study since 2017. Last year, Minnesota was named the fourth best state for 2024.
Now, the study has been released again and Minnesota killed it yet again! Here's how well we did and why we did so great once again.
How U.S. News & World Report Conducts Annual List Of Best States
Each year, analysts look at a variety of factors and weigh them a little differently, so some categories mean a little bit more than others. Some of those factors include infrastructure, economy, health care and education.

Other categories include fiscal stability, natural environment, crime and corrections and a few others. As mentioned, some of these were weighted slightly higher than others.
Minnesota Named The Fourth Best State Once Again For 2025
Minnesota is maintaining its spot in the top five, being named the fourth best state for 2025. It was interesting to look at where Minnesota ranked among all the categories and subcategories.

We scored best when it comes to opportunity within the state, including economic opportunity and affordability. The only category where we placed outside of the top 20 was economy, which looks at employment numbers, growth and business environment.
The Best & Worst States For 2025
Utah, New Hampshire and Idaho are the only states that beat Minnesota this year! As for the worst states for 2025, according to this report, those would be Mississippi and Alaska. Louisiana came in last. Better luck next year!
