Minnesota Bank Warns Customers About New Phishing Scam

When it comes to scams, the scariest ones, in my opinion, are the ones regarding your bank account! That is something you don't want to mess with.

That's exactly why there are so many banking scams, including a brand new one circulating in Minnesota as we speak.

For example, there was another banking scam just last month. United Community Bank warned customers across the state about the scam.

In this instance, scammers were pretending to be employees with the bank and asking for their online banking information. Absolutely not!

United Community Bank Issues Another Scam Alert For Minnesotans

Now, the bank has issued another scam warning, making sure customers are aware of yet another scam situation. It never ends but it's good they are so on top of things!

They issued a warning via social media Tuesday (May 13th), sharing with their followers that they'd received reports recently about the same scam. In this case, scammers are once again posing as employees of the bank.

According to their post, customers are getting texts saying that their accounts are under review or that the account is now restricted. If I got a message like this, I would definitely panic.

As always, scammers are trying to create a sense of urgency and panic to make you fall for the scam. The point of the scam is to get your banking information so they can steal money. Like I said, I would panic, especially if it seemed legitimate.

As you can see, there are a bunch of typos and errors, making it a little more obvious this is a scam. However, if you're in a rush and trying to figure things out, you might fall for it.

When it comes to situations like this, call the bank directly and make sure that things are okay. That's the easiest and simplest way to make sure you don't get scammed!

Sometimes when I get messages like this, they seem so real that I do question the legitimacy of them!
