Minneapolis Boy Sent To Hospital After Falling Icicle Injury
This is something I have definitely seen in a scary movie. A 10-year-old boy was struck in the head by an icicle and sent to the hospital.
KARE 11 in Minneapolis reported the story Monday. The station reports the boy and his family were leaving the City Center when the sharp piece of ice fell from one of the nearby skyways.
According to the report, the boy was rushed in an ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center. He had to stay overnight.
He had to get seven staples and a few stitches on his head for the injury.
Other local news outlets also covered the story. WCCO News even talked to the boy, who says he felt the blood "dripping down the left side" of his face after being struck by the ice.
The incident happened Sunday and the boy is now recovering at home.
This story is so scary! We (at least I am) are always so worried about falling on the ice or getting the car out of the snow that we don't look above us. This story will probably make quite a bit of people do just that now.
