Meet One of the Stars of ‘Mean Girls’ at the Miller Hill Mall
'Mean Girls' was one of the top comedy movies of the early 2000s and one of the stars from the movie will be in Duluth to celebrate a new store opening at the Miller Hill Mall.
Aribella’s Boutique, located in Frederic, WI, is opening a new location at the Miller Hill Mall and is celebrating with a fun meet & greet opportunity for 'Mean Girls' fans. The new location is celebrating its grand opening, and they hope you'll stop by and buy some trendy fashions and meet a movie star.
Daniel Franzese, who plays Damian in 'Mean Girls', will be at the new Aribella’s Boutique location on Friday, April 1st, and everyone is invited to stop by and meet Franzese and get a photo with him.
Damian was one of the main characters in the movie, if you remember, he was good friends with Janis and was one of the first people Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, meets on her first day at North Shore High School.
A decade after the 2004 release of 'Mean Girls', Franzese came out as gay in a letter that he wrote to Damian saying. "I wished I’d had you as a role model when I was younger. It might’ve been easier to be gay growing up. You WERE beautiful in every single way and words couldn’t bring you down."
Franzese continues to act, do comedy, and is an activist for the LGBTQ community. Most recently he was a guest judge on 'RuPaul's Drag Race', and he played an HIV-positive character in the HBO series 'Looking'.
Founded in 2018 by Charlynn Chenal, Aribella’s Boutique is named after her daughters Arielle and Izabella. The Boutique sells trendy clothes, shoes, and fashion accessories, you can check out a sample of what they sell here.
