Wisconsin Has The 2nd Most Beautiful College Town In America

I wish Duluth made the list but...I will be happy one Wisconsin city made the cut here! In case you missed it, a new list revealing the most beautiful college towns in America just dropped and just in time for back-to-school season.

Earlier this summer, Duluth was actually named the most beautiful college town in America by WorldAtlas. The reasons why are obvious: abundant outdoor recreation, Lake Superior and the wide array of things to do.

Now, it is Wisconsin's time to shine. House Beautiful released a list of the 11 most beautiful college towns in America earlier this month.

While no Minnesota city made the list, it made me smile to see Wisconsin not only making this list but coming in near the very top. Let's dive in.

Madison, Wisconsin Named 2nd Most Beautiful College Town

Okay, now I am adding this one to my bucket list. I can't believe I have never been to Madison. It was just named the SECOND most beautiful college town in the country, coming in just after Ames, Iowa.

Why did it do so well? If you have been there, you probably know. According to this list, a big part of its amazing showing here is due to all there is to do around the state's capital. It has a ton of natural beauty.

As if that wasn't enough, House Beautiful also cites the great restaurants and bars, which do count for a lot. Of course, Madison is home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison AND Edgewood College. There's also Madison Area Technical College and Herzing College.

For what it is worth, Madison was also named one of the most caring cities in the country recently. It seems like they really have it all. Happy back to school season!
