I am still not over this! Maddie & Tae are splitting up later this year and I just learned that this very thing has a very Minnesota connection. I never realized it before.

You probably know all about the duo who shot onto the scene a decade ago with their fun and incredibly catchy debut. The song was truly ground-breaking, poking fun at the bro-country trend so popular at the time.

Girl In A Country Song went on to become their first of many hits and the duo has continued to release incredible music in the decade that followed. I was obsessed with their first album and all of the ones that followed.

In December, ahead of the new year, they shared that they would be splitting in 2026. It was definitely shocking because they have been a mainstay in the genre for so long. However, they shared it was amicable and they simply wanted different things as they got older.

Tae wants to focus on being a mother and Maddie will pursue a solo career. Because they already had 2026 dates on the books, they haven't officially gone their own way just yet. In fact, at the time of writing, they have two more shows together.

I was shocked to learn their very last show will be in Minnesota this summer! They will be playing a festival in Winsted, marking their last appearance for now - and possibly ever. I am glad we will always hold a place in their heart, or their story rather.

Their final show will be on June 19th and you can be a part of it with a little bit of a road trip! I just might have to make the trip for this one. In a weird country music coincidence, Florida Georgia Line also played their last show as a duo in Minnesota.

They played at the Minnesota State Fair in a final show everyone was talking about. It seems like they might be reuniting so fingers crossed Maddie and Tae do as well!
