
Macy’s Closing 14 More Stores, Including One In Minnesota
Another one bites the dust! A national chain is continuing to shutter stores nationwide, and the latest round includes one in Minnesota.
This isn't too shocking, as many businesses have decided to adjust their business model over the past few years to meet a changing market. Many people now only shop online, meaning many brick and mortar stores aren't as busy in some cases.

Restaurants have also been doing the same thing, shutting down stores that aren't operating like they used to and changing menus to better serve the customer or to save them a buck.
The latest big business to do so is a retailer, and the latest round of closures might impact you - because a store in Minnesota is closing.
Macy's Continues To Shutter Stores Since First Announcement In 2024
The giant retailer first announced they'd be shuttering stores nationwide in early 2024. At the time, there were eleven locations in Minnesota. Stores were located all across the state, including in St. Cloud, Roseville and Maplewood.

At this time last year, they shared that they'd be closing two locations in Minnesota, less than a year after sharing they'd be closing stores across the country. Those locations included one in St. Paul and another in Burnsville.
Macy's Closing 14 More Stores In 2026 - Including Another Minnesota Location
USA Today revealed that the business is going to close at least fourteen more stores this year, continuing to close stores as they did last year. A Macy's location in St. Cloud will sadly be closing.

This particular store is located at 4101 West Division Street. The website also states that the store is closing, but it remains on the list of open locations for now. There is no word on when the store will close for good.
Remaining Macy's Stores In Minnesota - See The Full List
The Mall Of America location is open, which is probably the one most Northlanders go to when they do visit a Macy's store.
There are two other locations in Roseville, one in Edina, one in Minnetonka and one in Rochester. When all is said and done, there will be six locations left in the state.
