Honest Review Of New Spamwich At Kwik Trip
We've moved on from the Mountain Dew Dunker era and into SPAM season. Yes, Kwik Trip has announced that for a limited time, they will be offering SPAMwich breakfast sandwiches.
I've had my fair share of SPAM over the years. I'm not in love with it, but it's been a good backup option for fishing and hunting trips when we don't have any luck, but we still need to eat. Needless to say, I've had plenty of SPAM on fishing trips.
The SPAMwich comes in two varieties. There's the Western Omelette and Classic Brunch. I saw it debut yesterday on Kwik Trip's Facebook page.
I was hungry this morning, and I figured this could be an easy assignment. I was just hoping that the nearby Kwik Trip would have them in the hot case.

Western Omelet + Classic Brunch SPAMwiches $2.99
Sure enough, they had plenty of both varieties of SPAMwiches. They are priced at $2.99. I grabbed the western omelet SPAMwich, a couple of hashbrowns, and a Big Buddy, and I was on my way.

When I unwrapped it, my first surprise was that it was on a regular hamburger bun. It wasn't on an English muffin, croissant, or biscuit, like the other breakfast sandwiches usually are.
I kind of imagined the SPAM being like I prepare it myself, which is thicker slices that I sear up in a pan. This SPAM was thinner cut, and it was layered beneath the egg and peppers.

Can You Taste The SPAM?
You can taste the SPAM in the very first bite, but it's not overpowering. It tastes similar to the other breakfast sandwiches, if not a little more salty. I actually think having the SPAM thinner sliced than I do at home helps balance the flavors.

I'd Buy It Again
It was pretty good, if you like SPAM. It was hot, it was quick, and it hit the spot. It's only around for a limited time, so give it a shot. It was good enough I'd buy it again, and it's nice to have a little variety once in a while.
