Two Minnesota Cities Now Officially Among the Nation’s Coldest
I know it’s not exactly breaking news that Minnesota is cold. But when not one, but TWO Minnesota cities get called out as some of the absolute coldest in the entire country, yeah… that gets my attention.
We just finished thawing out from our first real deep freeze of the season and technically, winter hasn’t even officially started yet. Which means, yes, there’s definitely more coming.
We've officially reached the part of the year where everyone asks the question: why do we live here again? But before we spiral too far, it turns out… it could actually be worse.

Redfin just released a list of the coldest cities in America. This list isn’t just about one brutal winter storm or a random blizzard. It’s based on average annual temperatures, meaning both summer highs and winter lows are factored in. Translation: these are places that basically never warm up. Ever.

Dang, I'm not sure if I should be proud, or just cry... I'm going to try to be optimistic instead.
Sure, we deal with nose hair freezing temps and wind chills that feel personal. BUT, let’s pause and appreciate what we don’t deal with: no hurricanes ripping through neighborhoods, no gigantic snakes in the backyard, no venomous scorpions in shoes, and no earthquakes interrupting a Netflix binge. Can I get an amen to that?!
Would we happily take a few extra degrees? Absolutely. But for now, we’ll keep layering up, swapping winter survival stories, and reminding the rest of the country that yes… we live here on purpose.
